About these notes
I have worked for more than 50 years in structural mechanics, numerical analysis, and the finite element method in mechanical engineering.
I therefore consider it useful to make available to interested readers some advanced topics that are not usually included in university textbooks. They are presented in an accessible manner, together with simple MATLAB programs and numerical examples.
I have selected topics that I frequently encountered in my work, such as nonlinear structural analysis and, in particular, large-displacement analysis.
I initiated this project some time ago. It remains a work in progress.
